Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Botsfolio ("Botsfolio", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, applications, and services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Account information. If you sign up, your email address, an optional display name, and, for password accounts, a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google.
- Usage and chat. The messages you send to the companion and the responses generated, plus basic product-usage information, so the Service can function, keep your history, and improve.
- Trade data you share. If you upload a trade-history file, we read it to produce your analysis. We do not keep the raw file. We may keep the derived results (for example computed statistics and scorecards) so we can show them to you again and, if you later create an account, attach them to it.
- Connected-exchange data. If you connect an exchange, we access the account data needed for analysis. We request read-only access where possible and never place trades. Access tokens and API credentials are encrypted.
- Cookies and device signals. We use a first-party identifier stored in a cookie, and signals such as IP address and a device fingerprint, to keep you signed in, to link anonymous activity to your account if you sign up, and to enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse.
- Feedback and support. If you send feedback or contact support, we keep your message and any contact details you include so we can respond and improve the product.
We do not intentionally collect special-category data, and we ask that you not send it to us.
2. How we use information
- to provide, maintain, and secure the Service;
- to generate the analyses, setups, statistics, and companion responses you request;
- to keep your history and personalize your experience;
- to enforce usage limits, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the Service;
- to respond to feedback and support requests;
- to understand how the Service is used and to improve it;
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. AI processing
The companion is powered by third-party AI providers. To answer you, the content of your messages and the relevant context is sent to our AI provider for processing. When you upload a trade file, we may send column headers and a small sample of rows to the AI provider to map your file's format; the calculations themselves are performed by us. We do not use your private trade data to train third-party models.
4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data on these bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request), our legitimate interests (to secure, operate, and improve the Service and prevent abuse), your consent (where we ask for it, for example connecting an account), and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, to maintain an anonymous identifier that lets us apply fair-use limits and link your activity to your account if you sign up, and to keep the Service working. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling essential cookies may break parts of the Service.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf under appropriate safeguards, and only as needed to run the Service. These include:
- our AI provider, to generate responses and map uploaded files;
- authentication providers, when you choose to sign in with them;
- exchanges you connect, to read the data you authorize;
- a customer-support chat provider, if you contact support;
- a messaging provider, if you opt in to alerts;
- cloud hosting and infrastructure providers that run the Service.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, safety, or property or those of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
7. Data retention
- We do not store raw uploaded files; they are read and discarded.
- Derived results for logged-out visitors are kept for a limited period (currently about 30 days) and are removed if not claimed by an account.
- Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, unless a longer period is required by law.
- We may keep aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive credentials in storage and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond as required by applicable law. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
10. International transfers
We and our providers may process and store information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. By using the Service you understand your information may be processed in these locations.
11. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
